Description of lesson: Students will go to the the Tumblr blog site which will give them their assignment. The blog site includes a video on the germ theory, audio and website links to help them gain an understanding of the theory. A series of websites is also given to help them get started on their search. Students will then begin their research utilizing various internet websites and any of the suggested books. They will then create their essay and poster board.
Assignment:
Students will complete a research project in that either supports or refutes the germ theory. A typed, two page essay will be written and a time-line will be created using TimeRime.com. The time-line will chronicle important events that lead to the discovery of the Germ Theory.

The technology used in this lesson changes the teaching / learning in this way: Students will be able to create a visual time-line to help them understand important dates and events involved in the germ theory which will put the greater picture into an easy to follow timeline. It will also allow them to do independent research further developing these skill.
